JO Team Ballet Instructor
My love of the arts started early, first studying classical ballet with Miss Shirley Terrill then moving on to Judith Koeckhoven’s acclaimed Academy of Ballet Arts, training under her direction as well as Tony Williams, David Sun and Ballet Theater of Boston soloists Todd Hall and Marisa Soltis Delgado. Following that, and a move to Boston, I trained at Ballet Theater of Boston, again under Marisa and Ballet Theater of Boston Director, Jose Mateo. I miss performing on stage but have found so much joy in teaching.
Ballet plays an integral role in rhythmic gymnastics training, and when adapted specifically for this art form, it helps to enhance the coordination, flexibility, and elegance which makes rhythmic gymnastics the beautiful sport that it is. Having both a gymnastics and ballet background helps me to do just that. My current role is teaching ballet to the Junior Olympic team and coaching Rising Stars classes.
