The Rising Stars program is our recreational weekly class program.  Kids train once per week. This program is designed for kids who want to experience the beauty and joy of rhythmic gymnastics, in a fun, challenging but encouraging setting. Our Rising Stars classes are divided into three levels.

Rising Stars 1

Step into an engaging environment in which the beginner gymnast can explore the basics of rhythmic gymnastics using props such as balls, scarves, or stuffed animals. Our coaches lead gymnasts through stretches, body skills, and apparatus tricks, improving the child’s strength, flexibility, and coordination. This class is centered on acquiring basic techniques, but we will also work on learning fun skills like bridges, splits, candlesticks, and handstands. Rising Stars 1 classes are lots of fun! Through games, contests, dance, and one on one interaction, your child will be inspired to practice more and keep moving!

Equipment Needed:

  • Starter Kit
  • A ball
  • A stuffed animal
  • Jump rope (optional)
  • Comfortable clothes (leotard if you have one)
  • Yoga mat, or small space in a carpeted area
  • Zoom app, which we recommend to run through a computer or tablet for better viewing for your child

Parental Involvement: This class is designed to keep your child engaged with no parental involvement. Parents do have the option to help their child with stretches and basic skills, but this is not required.

Rising Stars 2

Gymnasts continue to hone their apparatus skills, combine body skills with ball tricks, and get super bendy in our intermediate level rhythmic gymnastics class. This class builds upon the basics covered in Rising Stars 1 and introduces gymnasts to the world of masteries and music. Note: gymnasts must have a ball and rope. In this class, we will focus more on flexibility, including oversplits, backbends, walkovers, chest stands, and elbow stands. Girls will also fine-tune dance elements like balances, turns, and jumps.

Rising Stars 3

This is our most advanced recreational class in which gymnasts learn complicated tricks and start to put them together in small sequences using interesting connections. Towards the end of the semester, gymnasts will start to use music in order to learn a routine. Watch the magic of rhythmic gymnastics as it all comes together into a spectacular virtual performance!
