FAQs about SUMMER CLASSES!
I am a current student – do I need to re-register for the summer? YES. June is the last month of the academic year registration. Summer Session (July and August) require a separate registration. Also, a new registration is required for the new academic year starting in September.
What is the difference between rhythmic gymnastics and artistic gymnastics? Rhythmic gymnastics focuses on flexibility, strength and coordination and uses small apparatus like ball, hoop and ribbon, in routines set to music. Artistic gymnastics uses large apparatus like bars and beam. Boston Rhythmic only teaches Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Do you include ballet and dance in your training? Yes, in every class we teach elements of ballet, embedded in the rhythmic gymnastics training we do. Your child will learn simple balances, turns and leaps and will improve their turnout, knee and toe extension.
What are the certifications of your instructors? All our instructors are CORI/SORI checked and completed the safety certification offered by USAG, our governing body. At Boston Rhythmic, all instructors go through our in-house training and use the same methodology to teach their classes. We instill discipline and focus in a friendly, loving atmosphere through positive coaching techniques that empower kids to reach beyond what they think is possible.
What can I expect by the end of the session? Rhythmic gymnastics gently sculpts the body, developing a lean and flexible body type, like a “ballerina”. Our students improve their posture, poise and grace, become more confident, expressive and learn that through hard work they can achieve their goals. Our students work on body skills like cartwheels and walk-overs, but more importantly, they develop strong character and work habits that will serve them for the rest of their life
