Volume 2, No. 0007
Dear Boston Rhythmic Friends,
I am just in awe with how beautiful our family is growing each week… organically adding new members from all walks of life. Our student body is more diverse than ever, and I am so proud of this! Thank you for helping us truly live our mission of providing “rhythmic gymnastics for ALL”.
The month of February is going by so fast… but that’s especially because we are having so much fun in the gym! Love is oozing around in all we do, and my heart is full! Our parties last week were all so awesome! I did not think I could attend 10 Zoom parties – but honestly I had more fun than the kids, each one was different, special, and lots of FUN and for sure we will do this again!
This week we have four new programs for you – please read the letter to the end, you don’t want to miss any of this:

excited about this!

We all got to know our classmates on a personal level, play active games, have fun, dance and laugh together! Some friends of our students came to the parties as well which was awesome! Living Room Extravaganza!
Competitions help our gymnasts stay motivated, work towards a goal, and feel involved in the community. Although this competition was created from hearing feedback from our online families, it is open to ALL gymnasts.
So many of you have been asking us for another Living Room Extravaganza so we are now ready to announce a new Extravaganza competition on Sunday, March 14th!
For the new members of our family, an Online Extravaganza is a fun online evaluation and competition that all gymnasts can do from the comfort and safety of their own home! The girls will perform On March 14th Rising Stars, Xcel and Levels 3-6 can participate!
Here is how it works:
Gymnasts will perform from the comfort and safety of their own home
Each gymnast will have a 3 minute time slot, during which they will perform: Rec kids, Xcel and L3: 3 skills and 2 masteries, 30 sec self-made routine, $25
Levels 4-6: 5 skills, 3 masteries and 45 sec self-made routine, $30
Gymnasts will warm up at home, log in to Zoom at the specified time, and perform.
Gymnasts will be evaluated by level (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and Xcel A, B, C, D and Rising Stars).
All gymnasts will receive a certificate after the event and cash prizes for the top 3 scores in the event!
Last year’s Extravaganza video is below!
NEW! Gymnast of the Month!
Everyone works so hard in the gym and we absolutely LOVE all of our students! Still, some stand out, and we want to acknowledge you! Did your gymnast reach a big milestone this month? Did she show love, team work, leadership or compassion in the gym among her teammates? Did she go the “extra mile” to reach her goals? COACHES, you can nominate your gymnast of the month and we will pick one – or more special gymnasts to receive this awesome honor.
A LARGE LAWN SIGN will be ready for you to pick up at the gym and put in front of your house to surprise your daughter. We can’t wait to get this program rolling in March!
In the SPOTLIGHT: Polina Kontorovich, Level 8
Begin Here – Go Anywhere!
Our Boston Rhythmic family is full of wonderful examples of growth, resilience, learning, transformation and leadership… In this regular newsletter column we are sharing the story and growth of one of our team gymnasts and the lessons she learned along the way. They are all wonderful role models for our younger athletes!
We asked Polina:
What is your favorite gymnastics memory?
What is your favorite apparatus?
Can you share about a challenge you overcame as a gymnast?
Knowing everything you know now, what would your older self tell your younger self? How would it help and why?
Read the blog post to see how Polina answered our questions.
