NEWSLETTER

November 3, 2020

Volume I, No. 0015
Dear Parents,

This month is all about GRATITUDE… We want to start this week’s newsletter by thanking you, the parents, for trusting us with your kids, for your commitment to their health and well being and for your continued support for our programs. We are grateful to be able to do what we love, which is teaching gymnastics! Gymnastics changes lives and empowers our students every day! We are proud to be able to perform this important work! Thank you for the opportunity!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – MASK IN GYM

We are very happy that you are a part of the Boston Rhythmic Family! We care about every single one of you and your family’s well-being and health. In line with this, starting immediately, we recommend that all gymnasts and staff wear a mask the entire time inside our facilities, unless there is a medical exception. Exempt from this rule are our team gymnasts while performing full out routines. We are also actively preparing all our classes for a remote option so we can quickly pivot in case it is needed to close our facilities for any reason, including snow emergency. We feel so fortunate to have this option to train from home and not to miss any training due to bad weather or any other reason! This is one of the silver linings of our current challenging situation!

Please do not hesitate to talk to me if at some point you don’t feel comfortable bringing your kids to the gym. They can always join the class from their home. We offer online classes, in person classes and hybrid classes to cater to all preferences and family restrictions.

Parent Appreciation Week: November 15-21 will be a special week at Boston Rhythmic – we will celebrate you, the moms and dads and grandparents who work so tirelessly to support the kids in their passion for gymnastics! Stop by the gyms for a special treat, check your inbox for a heartfelt message and let our love and appreciation reach you wherever you are.

Veterans Day – November 11 – we offer several special events in the morning AND regular training in the afternoon! Your kids have no school, and we are happy to be able to engage them in safe, fun and educational activities that day! Sign up early, space is very limited!

There is much more happening this week – please read the details below and check in with your coach!

See you soon, in gym, or on the screen!

Online Extravaganza

We are so excited to announce a NEW online-only competition that we will host on November 22nd! We know many girls and boys are training at home, and also want an opportunity to compete. Competitions help our gymnasts stay motivated, work towards a goal, and feel involved in the community. Although this competition was created from hearing feedback from our online families, it is open to ALL gymnasts.

Here is how it will work:

  1. Gymnasts will perform from the comfort and safety of their own home
  2. Each gymnast will have a 3-minute time slot, during which they will perform 5 body skills (turns and balances), 3 masteries, and one 30 second routine. The routine is encouraged to be self-made, and the focus will be on creativity of movement. More details about technical requirements will be communicated to coaches so that they can prepare the gymnasts accordingly 🙂
  3. You get to pick your own time-slot! We will email a sign up for time slots on November 15th, and parents will get to choose what time works for you!
  4. Gymnasts will warm up at home, log in to Zoom at the specified time, and perform.
  5. Results will be live via KSIS, gymnasts will be judged by level (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and Xcel A, B, C, D).
  6. All gymnasts will receive a certificate after the event, and first place winners in each level will receive a $25 gift card!

This event is designed to be FUN for the gymnasts, and EASY for your family! Registration is only $29, and is available through your Boston Rhythmic app. Click on Calendar, and then click Online Extravaganza on November 22nd.
